Commenting in Berlin on the banning of the Covid-19 demonstration by the Berlin Senate, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee said:

“For survivors of the Holocaust this ban brings great relief. It would be unbearable for them if anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists were to march through the streets of the German capital together with Holocaust deniers, potentially violent neo-Nazis and inveterate preachers of hate, openly displaying their contempt for democracy. This ban can be seen as an important signal that the state will stand up firmly to these groupings in the future.”
