Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee, commented on the current situation at documenta fifteen, and specifically criticized the unwillingness of the exhibition organizers to take a stand on anti-Semitic manifestations within the exhibition:

"Friends of the documenta are finding it particularly tragic and disconcerting to see how the documenta is being undermined and destroyed from within. There is an increasing impression that documenta fifteen has been taken over by ideologists whose main aim is to delegitimize the state of Israel. The fact that those responsible in Germany within the framework of one of the world’s most important art exhibitions are doggedly insisting on the continued display of notoriously blatant anti-Semitic stereotypes, is leaving not only Holocaust survivors utterly speechless."
