Commenting on today’s raid by security forces, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee said in Berlin:

"Auschwitz survivors are very grateful to the authorities whose raid today has demonstrated clear, decisive action against threats to the democratic state. These threats concern each and every one of us, and they are becoming more serious by the day. The fact that the groups in question are armed is extremely disconcerting, as too are their apparent links to the armed forces and the police. The interplay between the actors involved and their parliamentary helpers from the AfD is also very evident. The contempt for democracy and the basic tenor of hatred are common elements in both of these groups.

As a result of this raid, the majority of the democratically minded members of the armed forces and the police are strongly advised to immediately report any signs of right-wing activities to their superiors. Also, the authorities and the police are urged to resolutely disarm all so-called Reichsbürger, before the situation escalates into a catastrophe in our country."
