The new stories by Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee: "There were railway tracks, there were furnaces, and it was very hot and very dangerous."

For more than four decades, Christoph Heubner has accompanied survivors of Auschwitz and listened to them as they told him about the happiness and the pain in their lives after ‘survival’.

Christoph Heubner’s new stories tell of olives, ants and a piece of margarine paper, of images, smells and memories that the survivors have never been able to forget throughout their lives – and of the awareness of having to speak for those who did not survive and yet are as close to them as the number tattooed on their arms.
