Invitation to the scenic reading with musical accompaniment in Wolfsburg

There are so many events throughout the world which remind us of the horrors of Auschwitz and the causes that led to the destruction of democracy and to Auschwitz. The 27 January 2017 marks the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp.

In 2005 the United Nations decided that this day would be recognised each year throughout the world as the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. To mark the occasion the city of Wolfsburg and the International Auschwitz Committee are inviting you, in cooperation with the Hallenbad-Kultur am Schachtweg and the Wolfsburg ‘Remembrance and Future’ Association, to an artistic evening of remembrance:

In 40 fictitious diary entries, Christoph Heubner has told about the life and work of the Jewish artist couple from Warsaw and Osnabrück, Felka Platek and Felix Nussbaum. They were deported to Auschwitz in 1944. All trace of them vanishes there …

Today, Felix Nussbaum is known worldwide as one of the great artists who chronicled the Holocaust. We still know very little about his wife Felka Platek and her works.

We would be very happy to welcome you at the event.
