Commenting in Berlin on the political developments in view of the forecast results of the elections in Thuringia, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee said:

"For the survivors of the German concentration camps this huge increase for the AfD in Thuringia is a renewed horrific signal that a further hardening of far-right basic attitudes and tendencies is to be feared in Germany."
