At the invitation of Irish colleges and universities, Eva Umlauf, Auschwitz survivor and president of the International Auschwitz Committee, will be giving lectures and readings in Dublin, Galway, and Limerick from October 6 to 10. The lecture tour is supported by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In times of a shift to the right in German and European politics, remembering the crimes of the Nazi dictatorship is more important than ever. Anti-Semitism, racism, and historical amnesia do not return as sudden extremes—they creep in, often under the guise of normality.

Dr. Eva Umlauf, a survivor of Auschwitz, stands not only for remembrance but also for education, empathy, and responsibility with her reading tour through Ireland. Her words are a living antidote to forgetting—and an appeal to the present: Never again is now.
