Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice-President of the International Auschwitz Committee, commented on the first projections for the national elections in Austria:

“For Holocaust survivors, the first projections for the National Council elections in Austria, and especially the strengthening of the extreme right around Herbert Kickl and the FPÖ, are adding a new alarming chapter to their fears and concerns. All the more reason for them to hope for the unity of Austrian democrats who, in the interests of the country and in the interests of Europe, will oppose the oblivion of history and the ideology of old and new right-wing extremists.”
