The German Evangelical Church Community of Lisbon invites you to a literary-musical remembrance of the Holocaust with Christoph Heubner and the "Trio to RememBer".
Literary-musical remembrance of the Holocaust
The writer Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice President of the International Auschwitz Committee, tells almost soberly and yet poetically of the agonizing memories of the survivors of the extermination camps; memories of the pain and of the happiness of their lives "afterwards".
For more than four decades, Christoph Heubner has accompanied survivors of Auschwitz and listened to what they have to say: words, feelings and images that accompany people throughout their lives. Time and again, they confront the self-imposed challenge: "Speak of those who are no longer able to speak!"
The literary remembrance will be accompanied musically by the TRIOtoREMEMBER from Kassel. The musicians pick up on musical references from the stories and lend an additional dimension to the texts through their own interpretation.
On this evening, let the memories move your hearts so that neither fear nor hatred can find a place there, but forgiveness and love can grow, in the spirit of the motto of the year for 2024:
"Do everything in love." (1 Corinthians 16:14)
After the event, you are invited to join us over a snack to meet, mix and talk with each other.
